Mrs. Forman was my First Grade Teacher.
I dreaded starting to school. I was the farm kid with a safe, secure, and happy life at home on the farm. Kind of like Joe Dirt, no need for school!
Mrs. Forman changed all that. No Pre-K or Kindergarten back then. Not even Head Start. The bus hauled me in straight to hard core First Grade! As long as we had the right immunizations, we were destined to be part of this school family for the next 12 years.
First thing we learned was "raise your hand if you want to talk". Then, "stay quiet and stay in your seat". Unless you need to be sick and throw up, then get yourself to the bathroom! I made it.
Pretty quickly, she was sharing things like the book "The Little Engine That Could". What a powerful and appropriate lesson for First Graders. Wonderful memories!
Sincere condolences to My classmate Bob and all the family.
Life very, VERY well lived Mrs. Forman. Rest in Peace.
