Obituary of Roy Edward Prinkey

Roy E. Prinkey,
74, of Bruceton Mills (Hazelton Community), WV, died Friday, April 15, 2016, at his home.
The son of the late Elvy and Dorothy Mersing Prinkey, he was born June 13, 1941, in Clifton Mills, WV.
Roy attended the Hazelton Church of the Brethren and was a 1958 graduate of Bruceton High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a member of the Construction Union 379, and retired from the FBI in Clarksburg, after working there for several years. After being discharged from the Air Force, he worked on the family farm and was a partner in Forkey Farms for several years.
He is survived by his wife, Betty J. Ringer Prinkey; a daughter and her husband, Kelley and Cliff Curtner, of Corpus Christi, TX; a son and his wife, Steven and Larissa Prinkey, of Bruceton Mills; five grandchildren: Julie Curtner and companion, Travis Bonner, of Morgantown, WV, Aladeida Curtner of Morgantown, and Madison, Kerstin and Blake Prinkey of Bruceton Mills; and two sisters: Geraldine Wolfe of Arthurdale, WV, and Irene Clizbe of Arlington, TX.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marion Elaine Kotta, of Pacifica, CA.
Family and friends may call at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., and Monday, April 18, 2016, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service in the funeral home, with Pastor Barry M. Adkins and Rev. David Spence officiating.
Military honors will be provided by the Preston County VFW Posts.
Cremation will be provided by the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home.
