Ronald D. “Monk” Loughry,
64, of Bruceton Mills, WV, died Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at Mon Health Center in Morgantown, WV.
The son of the late Robert Clayton “Porky” and Della Mae Thomas Loughry, he was born May 9, 1957, in Terra Alta, WV.
Monk worked for his brother, Moose, at Chase Trucking Co. and he had L. and M. Enterprises, his own trucking Company as well as working for the Department of Highways. He enjoyed sports, Mountaineers and Steelers, and spending time visiting at Little Sandy’s Truck Stop. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and enjoyed his companion dog, Izzy.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa L. Michael Loughry; a son Ronald Dale Loughry, Jr. and his companion, Shellie of Terra Alta, a daughter, Samantha Adams and her husband, Jeremiah of Bruceton Mills, a son Philip Royce and his wife, Misty of Bruceton Mills and a daughter, Melissa Loughry, her husband, Nick of Albright, WV; 10 grandchildren: Chase, Paige, Faith and Carson Loughry, Anna Marie Savage, Paizley and Grady Adams, Julianna, Justus, Brianna and Ava Royce; a sister, Sheila “Sis” Loughry, of Reedsville; four brothers and their wives: Roger “Dano” and Tammy of Thornton, Eddie “Moose” and Connie of Terra Alta, Jimmy “Jimbo” and Lois of Kingwood, and Randy “Stacks” and Missy of Terra Alta; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Robert Clayton “Bones” Jr. and Darwin “Butch” Loughry.
Due to the increased prevalence of the COVID virus, a public funeral and burial will be held at the Shady Grove Cemetery, Bruceton Mills, Friday, October 22, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. with Mike Matlick officiating.
