Shirley Ann DeWitt,
85, of Albright (Lenox community), WV, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at Preston Memorial Hospital, Kingwood, WV.
The daughter of the late Beatrice Flower and Arthur Churchill, she was born October 24, 1935, in Bristol, England.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Charles DeWitt, Jr.; three daughters: Susan DeWitt of Belpre, OH, Jane DeWitt and her husband, Jimmy, of Arthurdale, WV, and Caroline “Dixie” Rosenberger of Rivesville, WV; two sons, Kenneth Muller of England and David Muller and his partner, Beth Lowther, of Big Bear Lake; grandson (son), James Stephenson and his wife, Tiffany, of Albright; grandchildren: Sarah and Isaac Johnson of Switzerland, David and Laura Wild of New Zealand, Heidi and Janelle Thomas of Ohio, Chris and Taylor Rosenberger of Bruceton Mills, Joshua Rosenberger of WV, Nikita and Jake Frankhouser of Bruceton Mills, Danielle and Matt Switzer of Westover, Laura Muller of England, Kenneth Muller, Jr. of England, and Kherakeisha Muller of England; many great-grandchildren from all over the world; mother-in-law, Thelma DeWitt of Terra Alta; brothers-in-law, Randall DeWitt and Michael DeWitt and his wife, Linda; sisters-in-law: Linda Freeland and spouse, Buddy, and Brenda Dixon and spouse, Rowdy; a close longtime friend, Janet Cziske; and many family members.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her sisters: Joy Churchill, Joan Monroe, and Betty Churchill; brothers, Paul and David Churchill; grandchildren, Karly and Katy Rosenberger; and brother-in-law, Clifford DeWitt.
The family wishes to welcome friends to attend the graveside memorial service on Friday, December 11, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at the Centenary Cemetery in Bruceton Mills, WV, with Father Andrew Switzer officiating. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the guidelines by the Governor and CDC, face masks and social distancing are required.
Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills will be assisting the family with funeral arrangements. Condolences may be sent to the family on the funeral home website.
