Obituary of Mary Katherine Benson

MARY K. BENSON,

     69, of Bruceton Mills, WV, died Thursday, June 21, 2007, at her home.
     The daughter of Edith Stephenson Benson, of Bruceton Mills, and the late Robert T. Benson, she was born February 3, 1938, in Greenville, WV.
     She was a retired employee of the Department of the Army, in Washington, DC, where she worked for 36 years as a personnel assignment specialist.  She was a member of the Bruceton High School Alumni Association and an avid fan of youth athletics.  Mary enjoyed extensive travel and fun time with her family. 
     In addition to her mother, she is survived by a sister and her husband, Janice and Wendell Christopher, of Morgantown, WV; three brothers and their wives: Delbert and Linda Benson of Bradenton, FL, Stephen T. and Mary Rae Benson of Bruceton Mills, and Dean and Suzann Benson of Bridgeport, WV; eight nieces; a nephew; seven great-nieces; ten great-nephews; and long time friend and traveling companion, Donna Barker, of Cambridge, OH.
     Mary was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Kenneth Benson.
     Friends may call at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home, Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, Saturday, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m., and Sunday, June 24, 2007, from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m., the time of the funeral services, with Rev. Vicki D. Sheppard officiating.  Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Bruceton Mills (Pisgah), WV.
