Obituary of Ronald Hosea Gribble
Ronald Hosea "Pap" Gribble,
70, of Somerset, PA passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on December 20, 1947 in Kingwood, WV. He is the son of the late Charles Lloyd and Norma Jean (Bradford) Gribble. He is preceded in death by his parents and daughter Shawn Lea. He is survived by his wife of 44 years the former Patricia Elaine Fike, his daughters Belinda Oester and her husband Gary of Grantsville, MD Shannon Gribble of Cumberland, MD and Brenda Gribble of Somerset. He is the proud grandfather of Jonathan Oester, Katrina Oester, Justin Welsh, Samantha Gribble and Jacob Gribble. In addition, his sisters Connie Forbes and husband David of Oakland, MD, Charlene Gribble and Loretta Reckart both of Bruceton Mills, WV. He had a special place in his heart for many nieces and nephews.
He was a 1966 graduate of Bruceton Mills High School. He is a US Army Veteran serving in Vietnam. He operated heavy equipment and was a member of Operating Engineers Union #37, was a life time farmer and owner of Ron-El Farms, a member of the NRA and avid entrepreneur. Ron spent his retirement enjoying the "breakfast club" with local friends, giving them unsolicited advice, riding his Harley, teaching his grandchildren bad habits, watching Fox News, and holding everyone accountable for their actions.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset, PA, and from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home, Bruceton Mills, WV, where a service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 5, 2018, with Rev. Vicki D. Sheppard officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery (Pisgah) Bruceton Mills, WV, with military honors provided by the Preston County VFW Posts, the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 977 Preston County, WV and WVANG Military Funeral Honors, Camp Dawson.
The family will have a memorial for Ron in Somerset at a later date
